Tender Memories Of You by Carl Harris - 1st Place

Etched in the corners of my mind
Are those tender memories of you
Where I wander searching to find
Some little piece of you that is true.

Oh, it seems so long ago today
That we went our separate ways,
There was just nothing left to say.
Foolish me, thought it was a phase.

One old memory lingers the best,
Of my listening to your heartbeat,
My ear pressed upon your breast,
The finest and most intimate treat.

Shades of gray now touch my hair
For what we had was so long ago;
Even now I seek you everywhere,
As in my heart I still love you so.

Someday our paths will again cross
When we shall be together once more,
For I will no longer regret our loss
But love you more than I did before.
